August
Thunders
By Maryella
Vause
Feel the sizzling
heat!
Hear the distant
thunder’s roar.
August pours her
sunshine out
On the ocean floor.
Let the crops
cry out for rain.
Let the streets
sweat blood.
August takes her
own sweet time
In a summer flood.
August’s stars
and moon are bright
Like a summer
glow.
Fill the nights
with mellow light
To give her midnight
show.
Summers close
with lightening streaks,
With crashing,
splashing rain.
In August blasts
of summer heat
And sullen winds
bring pain.
Look well to August
days of rest
And spend your
time with God.
For summer storms
and August nests
Fly quickly back
to sod.
