SAFE ROUTES TO SCHOOL
Blanco's 2002 Safe Routes
to School application was not successful. TxDOT
officials said the application was good, and
suggested studying successful projects and
submitting a new application when the Safe Routes
to School program was again funded. A successful
application for a planning grant was made in 2007.
Developing safe routes so
that our children can walk or bike to school has
been a major concern of the task force since its
formation.
